High quality Dowco Motorcycle Covers

Retrocycle sells a full line of quality Motorcycle covers for Harleys and Metric bikes.  Our Dowco covers offer protection from dust and from rain and the elements.  Even indoors its a good idea to cover your motorcycle to keep dust and dirt off the paint.  Dust is an abrasive and can dull the finish of your bike.

Metal Finishing – Cad Plating, Polishing and Parkerizing

Retrocycle Metal Finishing Services

Cadmium, Zinc, Nickel, Electroless Nickel, Copper, Parkerizing, Black Oxide, Aluminum Polishing and much more!

Did you know that some of the top restoration experts in the Antique Motorcycle Club of America (AMCA) use Retrocycle for their metal finishing?

I hear from a lot of my customers about finding a source of cad plating and parkerizing.

When I inform them that Retrocycle offers this service there are several questions that I’m asked almost without fail.

1. Is it real or is it copy cad?

Our cad plating service is performed by a government certified plating service that services mostly to military specifications.  This is the “real deal” and is actual cadmium plating (not a kit).

2. What is the turn around time?

In most cases we can turn your metal finishing order around within a week of receipt.  What this means is that we can generally have the order ready to send back to you within 7 business days from when we actually receive it at our shop.  Of course, sometimes it will take a bit longer but we pride ourselves on the quality of service and the quick turnaround that we offer.

3.  What do I have to do to prepare my order?

Generally, we like the products to be degreased but we offer media blasting as part of the service so there is no need to go crazy with the preparation.   Mostly, what we ask, is that all parts are completely disassembled.  This means that locknuts and washers must be seperated from brake rods or other component units.  If we have to extend labor to disassemble items we have to charge for this.

We also ask that you send duplicates of smaller items when possible.  For example, if you are sending a spoke set with nipples, it is a good idea to send an extra (or two) due to the off chance a small item gets lost in the process.  This has not happened to us in the past but it is an occurrence that does happen in the metal finishing industry.

4.   COST?   What will this cost me?

Cost is determined by the lot size.   Our minimum charge is $75.00.   The best approach is to e-mail or call us.  We can then direct you to either bring the parts to our shop or e-mail us pictures.  We can then quote you a price based on size of the lot to be finished.

If you have any other questions regarding metal finishing please feel free to contact us:

Digital Speedometer Gauge and Tachometer Gauge from Dakota Digital

December 23rd, 2009 Post a Comment »

These are some awesome new digital gauges that are just in from Dakota Digital.

Spike Speedometer/Tachometer

This is one of my favorite speedometer/tachometer combo. As a matter of fact, this particular model is so popular that this is currently sold out.  Don’t worry though, we have more on order from our manufacturer which are due in soon.

Check out our catalog pages on these replacement Harley speedometers here!

If you are really interested in replacing your entire gauge setup and make them all digital, check this 6-gauge kit that plugs directly into your stock wiring. This is an excellent replacement Harley gauge kit. Electronic Harley Gauges are a great way to make your bike more modern and sleek. And plus, making the entire gauge system digital makes it look much better too!

Slick Gas Caps and Sleek Hubs

Aren’t you sick of looking at the plain and boring gas cap that came with your Harley? It’s just one of those really little things that can make your bike that much more custom!
