Heads up to anyone going to buy a RevTec 6 speed gear set - they hare shit, I just went through putting two different ones in my 2004 FLH, the first one would pop out of 4th gear at 4200RPM so my certified shop call Rev Tec they sent another shifter fork for 4th gear - pull trans for a second time, exact same thing. Sent the trans back to RevTec they work on it sent it back put it in for the third time, exact same thing 4200RPM in forth gear and it pops out. This product is a waste of time and money; even my shop will not sell or install them anymore. I feel RevTec owes my shop money for labor they spent trying to fix RevTecs’ problem and shit product.

I have had both for a while now also: a 1971 BMW R60/5 and my 2004 Harley Softail Deuce. Perhaps it is not a fair comparison since the Deuce is more than 30 years newer with the benefits of advances in technology. The biggest difference for me, besides the obvious power difference (2-3x the power in the Harley I'd estimate) is the brakes. Having hydraulic, disc brakes is really important to me. The drums work fine but I'd say the stopping distance is 40% longer on the 200 lb lighter BMW.

When I need nostalgia I choose the BMW. When I need to get somewhere: its the Harley.

I am looking at a 95 electra glide. It has "Harley Davidson Motor Company" on the tank. Is this factory or after market?
