SOA is one of our favorite tv shows at Retrocycle. It has a great cast including Ron Perlman, Katy Sagal (Peg on Married with Children) and Charlie Hunnam as Jax. Even if you are not into bikes and biker culture you will like the show. It is very well written and very action packed.

Holiday gift idea: Bluetooth Headset for motorcycle helmets

I don’t have any experience with these and don’t know which are best. Personally I like being out of touch when on my bike, and less distracted, but some people really like these biker bluetooth headsets as an intercom between helmets, between bikes and to your phone.

Can anyone recommend a bluetooth motorcycle headset that works well?

New Front Tire for my Harley Davidson Deuce

I am not only the web geek for Retrocycle, I’m a customer. I can’t say that about the Hair Club for Men (I buy parts, not hair)

So my new Deuce needed a new front tire. It wasn’t an ASAP situation but I’d hate to be driving down the highway and have a front tire failure and know the tire was on its way out.

I ordered this MH90-21 tire from Retrocycle. It is the Harley D402 touring tire that is original equipment for this bike. The MH90/21 also fits the 2010 Big Dog K-9, 2010 Big Dog Ridgeback, other Harley Softail models such as the Fatboy and also the Harley XL Sportster. Check both your bike’s manual and the tire that is on the bike before ordering a tire. Previous owners might have changed the wheel to something other than stock.

If I was back in NJ I would use Retrocycle’s tire mounting and balancing services. Here in CA I will need to search for a shop to do this swap. The s-dealership wants around $300 for a tire and mount / balance which is way too much in my opinion.

K&N air filter air flow test

This is what really convinced me that K&N filters are the way to go:

You get increased airflow which has to lead to increased performance and gas mileage. I have a K and N air filter in my Harley, Subaru, Chevy RV and BMW. With gas north of the $4 mark here still in CA anything to get even a little more gas mileage helps.
